AYSO UNITED TO EXPAND ITS REACH IN CALIFORNIA’S ORANGE COUNTY

TORRANCE, Calif – Nov. 15, 2017 – AYSO United will be expanding into Orange County, California, for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Orange County is a part of one of the larger AYSO Sections – Section 11 – which has a rich tradition of producing some of the top AYSO players.

“This is an exciting time for our section as we look to offer AYSO United to all our players,” said Audrey Castreje, AYSO Section 11 Director. “We have a tremendous volunteer base that provides our players a great place to play. Now with United, we can keep our AYSO players in a professional club structure and show why AYSO is the top soccer organization in Orange County.”

AYSO United will implement three clubs, allowing players from all over Orange County to experience club soccer the AYSO way. The three clubs are as follows: United South OC, which will be located in the Laguna Hills area; United Central OC, which will be located in the Irvine, Tustin area; and United Pacific, which will be located in the Long Beach, Los Alamitos area.

Pacific Soccer Club has long been the established AYSO club program in Orange County, and this transition to the national club program will allow Orange County to be highlighted on a national platform.

“Pacific Soccer club has been a well-run program, allowing our players to compete at the highest level and showcase why AYSO is the right program for players to develop,” Said David Thomas AYSO United National Director. “United can now build on the foundation set by the PSC staff and take AYSO to the next level.”

Each new AYSO United location will be run by a club administrator and a professional director of coaching that will hire a team of highly-trained and licensed coaches. Existing PSC teams will transition to the AYSO United umbrella after their spring season, and new teams formed over the next few months will begin their AYSO United journey.

“Our focus right now is on selecting the right directors and staff to run these clubs and implement a new club program that is focused on development over winning,” Thomas said. “This is an exciting time for all members of Section 11.”
