The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is delighted to announce the hiring of Tom Lancaster as Director of Coaching (DOC) for the AYSO United Central and Empire programs.
Tom will oversee the development of the United program in both the Central and the Empire locations where he will be responsible for all United operations in those clubs. Tom brings a great deal of experience to the United program having been involved in the Orange County club circuit for a number of years as the Director of Coaching for OC Nomads.
“It is a testament to our organization that we are able to bring in someone of Tom’s caliber to help build our United program,” said David Thomas, Academy Director. “Tom is an exciting addition to our team and his contacts and connections in the youth market will be a tremendous benefit for AYSO. Tom’s experience in both the youth and college soccer world will have an immediate impact on our United program here in Southern California.”
Tom will manage all club activities from coaching hires to team and player selection where his focus will be on creating a positive learning environment for the AYSO United players.
“I am delighted to be working for the premier soccer organization in the country,” said Lancaster. “I am looking forward to working alongside the tremendous Region volunteers to build a club program that we can all be proud of. Our goal is to create a player centric environment that allows our United players to compete at the highest levels but stay true to our history and tradition.”
Prior to AYSO United, Tom was the Director of Coaching for OC Nomads, and served additional roles as U23 coach at USL team OC Blues, Northwood High School boys coach, Cal South as an Olympic Development Coach and the NSCAA. In addition, Tom will continue his role as coach at Irvine Valley College.
